Welcome to Hindley High School

We are a thriving school committed to challenge for all and support when needed. We expect the highest standards of performance, behaviour and effort and we emphasise the development of self-discipline, independent learning, self-esteem and respect for others.

We are very proud of what our pupils achieve whether it is in academic subjects, vocational courses or out of school activities. We provide learning opportunities where everyone can develop their knowledge, skills and attitude so that they become outstanding young adults, who are prepared for further training or study and for their future jobs. We have a culture which celebrates and rewards those high standards.

We provide your child with excellent opportunities to discover their strengths and talents. We also provide courses and teaching which are relevant for their needs and we ensure that your child can access their dreams and aspirations.

I hope you enjoy browsing our web site which gives you a flavour of our school in action.

School Closure Information

“Care, guidance and support are at the heart of the school’s ethos of ‘excellence, relevance and access’.”  -  Ofsted

Care for the individual child is a priority at Hindley High. Academic progress is closely monitored with termly reporting either through a progress update or a written report. In Year 9, all parents are invited to an individual options meeting with a member of the leadership team and in Year 10 for an end of year review. We also run information evenings for key stages three and four in the autumn term in addition to parent consultation evenings which take place later in the year.
